Our objective is to acquire via Community Asset Transfer the red ash pitch at Peter Brownlee park in Cambuslang and convert this to 3G standard for use by local Cambuslang teams. The pitch has been unused for over 25 years and can provide a great resource for the local community. This is not without a challenge but we are optimistic we have the right team to achieve this. Mission Possible is now underway.
We are aiming to have a phased approach to the development of the park. We aim to encourage a multi-sports use. With facilities that the community can access for breakfast and after school clubs, with social and meeting space for locals who want to meet and have a cup of tea while watching the next generation of sports enthusiasts enjoy their favoured sport.
We have reached out to the local sports families to determine if this was a feasible project. Would it be welcomed and used by the community. There was an overwhelming positive response. We are working with architects to come up with proposals that respect the local neighbours while creating spaces that will engage all the community and make this a real asset for the Cambuslang.
Have a question about our the project. Send us a message, and we will get back to you as soon as we can.
